Ashok Bang has extensive experience of over 40 years in agriculture and horticulture in particular, and rural development in general. He has his M.Sc. in Horticulture (Pomology special) from Indian Agriculture Research Institute, Delhi, and was researching with Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR), the apex body in that field. Ashok Bang mobilised Youth for Peace & Development in India and initially served as an expert in the “Agrindus Institute”; in tribal areas. He founded and led a non-profit social organisation in Central India, primarily for agriculture, women and rural development, active for grass roots, networks, and consultancy. Ashok has helped and has been a founder member for some national network associations and forums in sustainable agriculture with emphasis on science and society.
