Teach to Heal

Teach to Heal is a multi disciplinary group of US and India based health care professionals who volunteer their time and expertise to provide education on evidence based care in the field of maternal and child health. The group was founded by Dr.Nilima Ragavan, Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Stanford University School of Medicine and includes Neonatologists, Emergency Medicine Physicians, Obstetricians, Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists, Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, Neonatal Transport Specialists, Labor and Delivery Nurses, Respiratory Therapist and Occupational Therapists. The group partners with the Government and with local NGOs in India. Their activities have included state wide didactic conferences and hands on workshops/simulations for pediatricians and obstetricians. The group also provides technical support to Special Newborn Care Units (SNCUs) and Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) as well as to Labor and Delivery Services while observing and learning about local conditions and practices, evaluating gaps, discussing with local partners, making recommendations and following up to evaluate impact.
